Whimsical Beach Plaque
It's good not to take yourself to seriously at the beach. My son (9) and I bought my husband a mug in a souvenir shop one day that seemed fitting (poor hubby didn't have his coffee that day), "Leave crabby at the beach", it said, with a huge red crab in the center. Daniel thought it was a hysterical joke and laughed even though his father just rolled his eyes when he opened the gift. Children always bring us back to a healthier perspective on life. We adults can easily turn molehills into mountains but kids more often roll with the punches. He and his dad were out in the waves hooting and yelling with joy about a half an hour later. Now, every time he perceives his father to be a bit on the "tired" side, Daniel stealthily gets out the crabby cup and sets it out for his dads morning coffee. It always brings a smile.

Miniature fencing. It's easy to cut to length and use for all kinds of craft projects.

I use mini-baskets all the time for all kinds of projects. I always keep a bunch on hand. They look cute filled with dried flowers and shells for table settings too.

Tiny clothespins! Hard to find!

Materials: Frame, sand, shells, Elmers glue, whimsical beach stuff
Take the back out of the frame and spread a thick layer of glue on it evenly.
Shake the sand out and press into the glue. After this dries then I spray the sand with a spray-on glue to finish it
After the sand dries, start adding the details like: fencing, flowers and basket. Next, put a thick layer of glue on the bottom of the frame and then press in some sand mixed with tiny pebbles and shells. Make sure you have plenty of glue (it dries clear).
Now hang a string and the tiny clothes pins (most crafts stores carry these). Paint a sign to say whatever you want it to say and hang it up.

Our favorite way to spend time as a family, dirty piggies in the sand.
